Facilitation can be a valuable tool in finding collective solutions or common alternatives when working with different groups in search of agreements or even in dealing with a range of challenges (cultural and communication gaps, management issues,…). UBORA can help you in reaching such challenges using the approach of Process Work and Deep Democracy Institute.
This approach encourages surprise solutions which provoke a more cohesive orientation and more creative and effective answers, all of which help steer organisations towards change and development.
“We adopt an attitude of deep democracy which applauds and considers vital the variety and diversity of style, trend, experience and mindset both in terms of the individual and the group. We do not exclude those which are regarded as inappropriate, conflictive or politically incorrect, as even these can provide valuable information which may contribute to the welfare and success of an individual or an organization as a whole”.
We also use Life-experience methodologies in our In-depth workshops: Reflect-Acción.
Our services will help you to:
· Improve the quality of group dynamics within organizations.
· Prevent and transform conflicts, which may arise.
· Strengthen the participation and personal commitment of those involved in the process.
ADIS (Association of Sub-Saharan migrant women) is an organization of African women based in Catalonia, created in 2004. They have a mission to defend human rights and fight against traditional practices harmful to the health of women, such as female genital mutilation (MGF).
ADIS promotes the participation of African women in Catalan society and works to make possible the process of empowerment of this group of women, to ensure their autonomy and fortify their capacity to make decisions on their own. It does it through providing training spaces or income generation collective initiatives. It also promotes ties between women groups in Senegal and the diaspora community implementing co-development projects, and promoting the relationship with other groups of women living in Senegal through co-development projects.
In early 2012, after eight years of work, and in a context of severe economic crisis, that aggravated the situation already difficult for Sub-Saharan women in Catalonia, ADIS decided to conduct a process of strategic reflection. Deepening the understanding of their processes of change during the history of the organisation, in order to redefine the actual needs, priorities and commitments of the collective project of ADIS and after that, planning the actions for 2012.
UBORA provided a workshop using reflect action methodology, which allowed for the visualization of the process so far, the evaluation of existing capabilities in the organization and the defining of the main priorities and needs . Subsequently, UBORA conducted a process of long-term support in the deployment of the strategies prioritized.
